Special Minors Rewind: Video Daily Double!

Video_Daily_Double_-8== No MLB game, so we’ll dip into the minor-league video vault ==

Note: I cannot embed MLB/MiLB videos directly into WordPress, so I have to embed the video in another object that I can embed (I’ve been using a word cloud with only one word).  So it’s a two-step process.  Click on the box, and then on the arrow to play the video.

The minor-league videos are small, but I tried to pick ones that are pretty decent when expanded to full screen.  You also might have to be a bit patient for loading.

First, here’s Jesus Montero.

Chris Taylor:

Here’s one breaking pitch from Jordan Pries:

From Jackson, here’s Jabari Blash (since promoted):

On defense, Ketel Marte (kind of oddly edited, but you get the idea):

Got no new highlights from High Desert, but here’s Austin Wilson in Clinton:

Daily Prospect-palooza

  • As we’ve already alluded to in the article on right-handed power, Montero had his 7th homer to help boost Tacoma to an 8-0 blowout of Sacramento.  James Jones also went deep.
  • Blash was 0-for-5 in his AAA debut.
  • Pries got the win and keeps looking solid: 6.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 6 K
  • High Desert was on the receiving end of a 1-hitter, though Jabari Henry had three walks.
  • Clinton split a double-dip after a bunch of rain.  Emilio Pagan got his 5th save in the opener.  He’s only given up 4 ER in his entire pro career: 1.03 ERA last year; 0.75 ERA this year.
  • Wilson had the above-viewable homer in the 7th inning of the nightcap (empty stands), but Thyago Vieira gave up the walk-off run in the bottom of the inning.
